A situation, in which critical and creative thought could have been used for a better outcome, is when investors were making decisions about the purchase of real estate. In 2006 the real estate market was giving signs of weakening where prior to that year it was thriving, but investors were not using their suppose to have critical and creatively thinking, instead, they were greedy and let the greed lead their decisions. nonetheless, some lenders were very aggressive in their lending procedures while the government was not involved. Investors continue to buy in madness at high prices, even paying over the listed prices for properties (Yahoo Finance). Then the market went down and investors were stuck with lots of debits and pieces of properties. Many investors did not consider bad case scenarios at all and, their net worth could have been maintained, instead we saw how thousand of properties started going into foreclosure. This was a hard lesson to learn yet today the lending rules have changed thanks to a revamp of the lending practices. By thinking critically and creatively the government has tight regulation on home buying.
Free will is the moderate definition of free will is when people have choices when it comes to decisions like whether to hang out with friends or finish doing assignments.???Truth is what so is about something, the reality of the matter, as distinguished from what people wish were so, believe to be so, or assert to be so??? (Ruggiero, 2009). The truth never changes. You make a choice based on a truth. For example, If you don??™t go to school you will not be able to a good paying job. Knowledge can change as new information is available. Ideas do not constitute knowledge unless they correspond to reality (Ruggiero, 2009).Now this knowledge of wanting to go to work corresponds to the reality of having a roof over your head or food on your table. Opinions are intensely personal, so it is understandable that people have strong feelings about theirs. (Ruggiero, 2009). Your opinion may not be the truth but for an individual it is a personal view and not any one else??™s.
Hindrances is a Resistance to change, conformity and self-deception. Overcoming resistance to change by having an open mind and welcoming, not necessarily accepting, many new ideas. Overcoming Conformity the right way to fight conformity is to think for yourself and not worry about how many people share your view. Overcoming self-deception only when we are able to decide honestly what information we need to solve a problem and then, after acquiring that information, to evaluate it fairly we would have learned to be honest with ourselves. When faced with hindrances at first I tend to drown in the tiniest glass of water and it is frustrating. Over the years I have learned, on my own or maybe by example I don??™t know, to look at the big picture first, see all possible outcomes and then make a decision or correct a situation. Overcoming self-deception is one of the hardest hindrances to overcome for me. I??™m usually the quiet one in a group and easily drowned by the ???loud??? ones. When this happens I purposely act assertively so I can get my point across.
Weight loss products ads show how using a magic pill a person can look like the person depicted in the ad itself, usually this person who barely weighs 100 pounds! My initial perception is to think what if I looked like that But the reality of the advertisement is to get you to buy its product regardless of the outcome (read the small print, it usually says that ???results may vary???) and whatever the cost. Sometimes the ad producers will make remarkable offers like buy 1 and get 1 free and no shipping, all while the very thin model walks back and forth holding the magic pill in front of a camera. My first impression is faulty because I may become as thin as the ad model but not because of the magic of a pill. The reality is that feeling healthy requires a lot more effort than a pill; it requires adopting a set of good eating and exercise habits.
